When the car went into limp mode VCDS reported the EGR at 100.6 and N75 at 9.9. * We temporarily tried a 2.5 BAR sensor in place of the stock 3 BAR, that helped the limp mode fault but that may have been a cheat since the ECU would be fooled to think the boost is higher than it really is. * The N75 charge air pressure signal, is that the desired signal or is there a pressure transducer which gives the actual vacuum reading going to the turbo VNT actuator? This will raise the mass flow rate and lower the boost. Correct? The mass flow target is often hit with a high EGR signal at or near 100%, so I am wondering if the EGR cooler is plugged (this was a grease car) and not allowing proper EGR flow. I am guessing the ECU won't allow the boost to go up any higher if mass flow is being met. * There is a mass flow specified and mass flow actual. Aside from the obvious leaking hoses which he is checking, and he has a smoke test done to check for leaks, what other possibilities are there? He is getting an intermittent P0299 underboost fault. However, I would like to put up some of the common things for which it can be used. VCDS as such has a whole lot of options and its impossible to master it completely. So I thought I would put up a thread for the benefit of all bhpians. A lot of people keep asking me about stuff that can be done using it. I bought the cable a few years back and have used it quite a lot over time. It can also be used for diagnosing issues, taking logs etc.
